Finding Joy

Joy is the happiness that doesn’t depend on what happens.
by David Steindl-Rast
Joy may be found in moments, but the joy that lasts a lifetime is found in ourselves. No matter our circumstances, how we view and respond to the world around us is the way to joy. During times like this it’s not always easy to find joy, but when we search the crevices of life we can often find little treasures. Like those moments at home with those we love.  The connections with family and friends,  in person or virtually. Like rediscovering what it feels like to be sitting in the sun reading that book you’ve been wanting to get to. Like remembering days without the crutch of technology and the internet. But, we need to be and to stay together, to remember our true selves and the power of community and connection.

And so, we decided to offer a free short meditation and connection session every Saturday at 9am Pacific (LA time) on facebook live. Once we get a rhythm we’ll record and repost for future consumption. We invite you to join us.

Zen Master Bon Jacques-Pierre Cole practices the Ngagpa tradition of Tibetan spiritual legacies. Bon Buddhist Monks are known to be wild, unpredictable, full of laughter and love, and deeply compassionate. He has served in the US Navy and Army, and seeks to support those struggling to find their authentic purpose through self-discovery. Once one's purpose is in alignment, all things become possible. He uses various techniques including different schools of meditation and mindfulness, oftentimes incorporating mudras (hand gestures), storytelling and sound healing. We call it this “Meditation for Humans”. It’s powerful, easy to understand, practical and short!
“Live everyday not as if it were your last, but for what it can be, a journey into the unknown. Potentially connecting you to your humanity and happiness. There is nothing better than genuine human kindness. Be that person.”
